Hartford Symphony

• Designed, programmed and implemented a free concert held in the center of Hartford, showcasing the diverse musical traditions of the community. Featured were Latino, African-American and West Indian music for symphony orchestra.

• Created the Hartford Symphony’s first Latino Music Festival

  • Established a Community Advisory Board

  • Merged existing programs with innovative repertoire and new programs to reach previously untapped audiences.

  • Collaborated with Latino-based community organizations

• Provided counsel to HSO Music Director Edward Cumming in programming his inaugural season.

• Led development efforts to consecutive record setting years with annual fund raising activities exceeding $2 million for the first time in the orchestra’s history.

• Established a charitable gift annuity program in partnership with Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.

• Secured multi-year commitments from Hartford area corporations ranging from $112,000 to $210,000 for support of the orchestra’s summer concert series and community engagement programs to develop new audiences in the Latino and African-American communities.
